Sara is an artist and lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University’s School of Art and Design. In 2024, Sara completed a PhD that examined the expreinc of migration and diaspora with a focus on the recent Scandinavian migration to the UK and how it can be articulated in art. Before this she completed a BA (Hons) from Central Saint Martins and an MA by Research at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Over the years, Sara has shown her work in venues such as Paper Gallery, Fact Liverpool, Rogue Project Space, Nexus Art Café, Holden Gallery, Grosvenor Gallery, Rogue Project pace. She undertook two residencies and exhibited at Sidney Nolan Trust as well as recently undertaking a residency at Manchester Art Gallery’s Platt Hall.
She has an active record of academic research dissemination through conference presentations at national and international levels. Her recent research includes the project Dreaming the Between (2025), which was presented at the Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association (MeCCSA) Annual Conference at Napier University, Edinburgh.
Earlier she contributed to the Association for Art Historians New Voices conference with Image Matter: Art and Materiality (2015) at Manchester Metropolitan University. She also presented at Writing Between the Lines (2016) at Cardiff Metropolitan University. In 2017, Davies presented at the international conference Heritages of Migration: Moving Objects, Stories and Home, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, organised by the Ironbridge International Institute for Cultural Heritage at the University of Birmingham in partnership with UNTREF Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero. Her participation in international research networks includes contributions to the Nordic Research Network conferences Bridges Between(2016) at University College London and The North as Home (2016) at the University of Aberdeen.
