Description
I am developing a body of work using my house as a canvas for multiple projections in which I visualise a sense home. I create composite environments in which I remember and imagine my former home in Sweden. I superimpose these environments onto the fabric of my house. At this stage in the research process I am reflecting on being in proximity with, literally and metaphorically, my images of home. Using both Swedish and English I am capturing this experience in words noting where one language replaces by the other.
Reflection
This body of work explores notions of belonging, dwelling and residence. It is questioning the idea of home as tied to place. Through my art practice, through a combination of vision and touch I am creating a threshold between the divisions of past and present, interior memories and the exterior environment, here and elsewhere.
